Our Journey
- 2007 - SBK Enterprises was founded as a small trading company by Mr. Sathyajith Samarathunga and J.L.I.K Sugathadasa - husband and wife with a vast experience and knowledge absorbed by university of Colombo as business management graduates.
- 2011 – Wood Feather Industries (pvt) Ltd Started with technical collaboration and investment of Singapore entrepreneur Mr. Lim Kim Guan, factory was built in Yatiyanthota and it reflects the four years tremendous growth of SBK enterprises. It was one of the main dream achieved in their life to enter the manufacturing industry.
- 2013 – Keeping giant step, established second plywood manufacturing factory in Padukka to cater the increasing demand of the construction industry.
- 2015 – Another milestone of SBK Group is establishment of their own glue plant with expert knowledge of Mr. Lim Kim Guan about Chinese technologies for in house production and industry requirement .
- 2015 – After the short period of opening glue plant, SBK group set up the full equipped laboratory to fill the gap of plywood industry.
- 2015 – Linyi Dingan International Trade Co. Ltd was established in China as a trading company to cater the international market. Then Mr.Samarathunga becam the one of few Sri Lankan business owner in china.
- 2017 – As a result of strong business relationship and technical know how gathered from China, SBK group decided to setup steel factory to manufacture steel in Sri Lanka, and it is the 100% Sri Lankan owned steel manufacturing company in Sri Lanka. Now SBK group has become a leading business enterprise in Sri Lanka giving greater contribution to the economy.
